Ethereum (ETH)

A decentralized, open-source blockchain, similar to Bitcoin which may be used to create and circulate smart contracts in a peer-to-peer network without the intervention of intermediaries. Ethereum was invented in 2013 by programmer Vitalik Buterin and was subsequently released in July 2015. Ether is awarded to miners when verifying transactions.
