Bulls say

  • Leadership transition

A new CEO with extensive consumer packaged goods experience and prior board leadership suggests improved marketing and customer engagement alongside an orderly leadership transition that supports strategic continuity.

  • Chicken operational performance

Operational improvements in the chicken segment—including higher yields, better capacity utilization, and stronger labor productivity—have expanded margins and support an upgraded earnings outlook.

  • Genetics commercialization

Commercialization of the poultry genetics business has turned it into a profit contributor, creating a sustained competitive advantage that can boost segment profitability without large immediate pass-through to broiler operations.

  • Cattle supply risk

USDA testing for New World Screwworm has increased concern about cattle supply disruption, which could tighten beef availability and put pressure on beef margins.

  • Beef industry headwinds

Cyclical pressures in the beef business, including tight cattle supply and inefficiencies tied to plant disruptions, are constraining recovery and weighing on segment earnings.

  • Input inflation and pork performance

Inflation in packaging and protein inputs, together with elevated hog costs and discrete operational issues in pork, is compressing margins in prepared foods and pork segments despite pricing efforts.
