Tầm quan trọng của đồng Euro
Euro (EUR) là đồng nội tệ của 19 quốc gia thuộc Liên minh Châu Âu và được hơn 340 triệu công dân EU sử dụng. Bởi vậy, đây là đồng tiền được sử dụng rộng rãi thứ hai trên thế giới. Euro rất quan trọng với các nước EU vì chúng bảo vệ các quốc gia trước những cú sốc ngoại hối, giúp cho nền kinh tế toàn cầu ít bị tổn thương hơn và đảm bảo chi phí giao dịch, tài chính và ngoại hối cho các doanh nghiệp quốc tế ở mức thấp. Euro còn là một đồng tiền toàn cầu tham gia vào các lĩnh vực như năng lượng, kinh doanh nguyên liệu thô và sản xuất máy bay - những lĩnh vực hầu như được giao dịch bằng USD. Điều quan trọng không kém là đồng EUR được liên kết với hơn 60 quốc gia và vùng lãnh thổ bên ngoài EU.
Giới thiệu về đồng Euro
Euro lần đầu tiên được giới thiệu vào năm 1991 trong Hiệp ước Maastricht với tư cách là đơn vị trao đổi chung giữa 12 quốc gia thành viên ban đầu của Cộng đồng Châu Âu. Đồng tiền mới này được phát hành chính thức vào ngày 1 tháng 1 năm 1999. Ban đầu, chỉ một số doanh nghiệp và thị trường tài chính sử dụng đồng EUR, và đến sau năm 2002, đồng tiền này mới bắt đầu được hầu hết các quốc gia thành viên sử dụng. Đồng EUR được quản lý bởi Ngân hàng Trung ương Châu Âu có trụ sở tại Frankfurt, Đức. Không phải tất cả các quốc gia tại Châu Âu đều sử dụng đồng Euro mà chỉ có 19 trong số 27 quốc gia sử dụng - được gọi là "khu vực đồng tiền chung Châu Âu".
