Producer Price Index (PPI)

A price index published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) that shows the average changes in prices received by domestic producers. It is an indicator to track inflation, which, unlike the CPI, measures inflation from a consumer angle. The PPI is also looking at the variation in prices from a producer standpoint.
