Direct Quote

The exchange rate of a currency pair in terms of the foreign currency. It states how many units of the base currency are needed to purchase a unit of the foreign currency. For example, in Europe, the Euro represents the domestic currency whereas the US Dollar is the foreign currency. So, the direct quote would be USDEUR = 0.87280.
