Leverage

The ability to control more capital than has been deposited. For example, if a trader deposits $1000 with a leverage of 1:100 then their trading power is multiplied by 100, hence they control $100000. Leverage is a double-edged knife as it may multiply profits but at the same time, it may multiply losses.
