Know Sure Thing (KST)
Developed by Martin J. Pring. It is a momentum oscillator based on the Rate of Change. It is calculated as the sum of four smoothed Rates of Change. The signal line is computed as a 9-period Simple Moving Average of the KST. The divergence between the KST and the price, signals potential reversal to the opposite direction. The crossing of the zero line to the upside signifies positive momentum or bullish sentiment. On the contrary, the crossing of the zero line to the downside signifies negative momentum or bearish sentiment.
Upside momentum is increasing when KST is negative and crosses above the signal line. Similarly, downside momentum is increasing when KST is positive and crosses below the signal line.
