Horizontal Count

In Point and Figure charting, the Horizontal Count is used to estimate the price objective after a breakout of a congestion area occurs. Count the number of columns in the congestion area and project an equal number of boxes in the direction of the breakout. The wider the congestion area, the higher the price objective. The Horizontal Count applies to 1-box and 3-box reversal charts.
