FOMC Funds Rate

The interest rate determined by the FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) used by banks and other depository institutions to lend money to each other. It is a tool used by the FOMC to control inflation and short-term interest rates. The interest rate is of great importance to currency valuation. It is scheduled eight times per year.
