Alligator (Williams Alligator)

Developed by Dr Bill Williams in 1995. A technical analysis indicator that combines three moving averages. The blue line which is a 13-period Smoothed Moving Average shifted into the future by 8 bars, is called the “Alligator’s Jaw”. The red line which is an 8-period Smoothed Moving Average and shifts into the future by 5 bars is called the “Alligator’s Teeth”. The green line represents the “Alligator’s Lips” and has a 5-period Smoothed Moving Average, which shifts into the future by 3 bars. During a trend, the three lines are open whereas during a sideways move they are intertwined.
